Trump Declares ‘Spectacular Military Success’ After Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Sites, Warns Iran to ‘Make Peace

[Current Date: June 22, 2025] – President Donald Trump announced today that the United States has conducted “spectacular military success” strikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. The declaration came after days of heightened tensions and an ongoing series of Israeli airstrikes against Iranian targets.

In a televised address from the White House, President Trump stated, “Tonight, I can report to the world that the strikes were a spectacular military success.” He further added that Iran’s “key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated,” and warned Tehran that “there will be either peace, or there will be tragedy for Iran far greater than we have witnessed over the last eight days.” He stressed that Iran, which he called “the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace.”

The U.S. intervention marks a significant escalation in the conflict between Israel and Iran, with the United States directly joining Israel’s efforts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program. According to reports, the strikes involved B-2 stealth bombers dropping six 30,000-pound “bunker buster” bombs on the deeply buried Fordow facility, while 30 Tomahawk missiles were reportedly fired at Natanz and Isfahan. U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, indicated that these American capabilities were crucial for targeting heavily fortified underground sites.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lauded President Trump’s decision, calling it a “bold decision” that “will change history.” The attacks follow more than a week of Israeli airstrikes aimed at degrading Iran’s air defenses and nuclear capabilities.

While Trump stated his objective was to “destroy Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity, and a stop to the nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror,” Iranian authorities have confirmed the attacks on their nuclear sites, but insisted their work would not be stopped. Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) condemned the U.S. bombings as a “brutal act that contradicts international laws.” Iran’s Foreign Minister also warned that the “outrageous” U.S. attacks on “peaceful nuclear installations” would have “everlasting consequences.”

The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the strikes a “dangerous escalation in a region already on the edge — and a direct threat to international peace and security.” Fears are rising over potential retaliatory strikes by Iran and a wider regional conflict, which could impact global oil markets.

The U.S. administration reportedly notified Tehran of the strikes in advance, with sources indicating that Washington communicated it did not seek an all-out confrontation and only intended to strike the specified nuclear sites. However, Iranian officials have publicly stated they are considering “all options” for their response.

The Pentagon is expected to provide a briefing on the U.S. airstrikes later today.
